Odds and sods I look at regularly, just because they amuse me. I hope they do the same for you. Incidentally, I found this page’s title on Greg Ross’s Futility Closet (it’s somewhere on this page) in a mini-article which also includes the delightful sentence in Icelandic: Barbara Ara bar Ara araba bara rabbabara. Ross points out that this, “besides being fun to say, is spelled with only three letters. It means “Barbara, daughter of Ari, brought only rhubarb to Ari the Arab.”

Futility Closet » 77777 …
A curious puzzle from the Penguin Problems Book, 1940: A certain number consisting entirely of 7s is divisible by 199. Find the last four digits of the quotient, without finding the entire quotient. SelectClick for Answer> 199 × the quotient equals the number we’re seeking (7777 …). Hence (200 × the quotient) minus the quotient will give us the same … [Link]

Back in 1982, Howard Blakely transformed the back half of his Volkswagen Beetle into a lawn mower. Twice a week, he would use it to mow the three acres of grass around his business, Blakely's Drapery and Upholstering, in Lecanto, Florida.
You can find more details about his odd creation at Gas Engine Magazine.

Weird Universe » “Iron Mask” Wristwatch
I can't find any evidence for the widespread distribution of this watch outside this advertisement. Evidently, it did not catch on. Even Ebay does not seem to feature any as collectibles.
Of course, offering a watch that cost $17.50 (2017 equivalent: $307.40) during the Depression might have had something to do with their failure.
